I was suspicious of the mom on first reading, but I didn’t really expect the complete 180 in my impression of her. It took me going over it a few times to try to decide if fake Michio was completely imagined, what the purpose of the zoo trip was. I don’t think I’m phrasing this well, but I really enjoyed the story!
