    I was kind of hesitant about where this series was going, afraid it would just be watching everyone bully Taeko into pretty skinny femininity, but I’m feeling kind of impressed by Akino and the way this is unfolding. Thank you for translating, and I look forward to more.

      She definitely does have a pretty/skinny transformation, which I don’t love. I feel like it tries to do a “pretty on the outside doesn’t equal pretty on the inside” message by comparing Taeko and Yukino, but it’s somewhat undercut by having Taeko lose weight. There’s some other hinky stuff that I sideeye later on, too, but overall the unabashed crackiness of the plot outweighs those for me. I would totally understand anyone who noped out, though.
