Apparently Musume no Iede is ending in Japan this month and will have six volumes total. I’m sad to hear it’s ending, but as we’re only just starting volume three here, we’ll still be going for a while longer!

      I’m sorry it’s been so long! I have a few chapters translated, but it’s been stalled on the cleaning/typesetting, because my collaborator has been super busy the last few months. She said she hoped to get a chapter out this month, but I can’t guarantee anything. If there’s no change in her situation soon, I may have to start looking for someone else.

      I am still actively working on the scanning and translation, though.

    I haven’t started reading this series yet, but plan to because I love Shimura Takako.

    I feel I read that this series was a sort of anthology? Is that true? Or is there a story that continues throughout the volumes?

      It’s sort of a cross between the two? Most chapters are stand-alones and focus on a single character, then the next chapter will focus on a different character who appeared in the previous chapter or is otherwise somehow linked to events in the previous chapter. Some characters only get one chapter focusing on them, and others (such as Mayuko and her friends) have multiple chapters.

      There’s no overarching story, and the title is a bit of a misnomer. I’ve seen complaining that no one is “running away” in this or that chapter, or try to make it fit metaphorically, and there’s really no need. The series title is simply taken from the first chapter when it was a one-shot.
